These ruins of the Dacian Kingdom's capital are 2,000 years old and are situated in Orastiei Mountains, in Hunedoara County. Sarmizegetusa was built by the dacian king Decebal, and served as capital until it was conquered and destroyed by romans in 106 AD. After that, the romans moved the capital of the provence to Sarmizegetusa Ulpia Traiana, a few miles from the old capital.
